What Catalog Truth is

Catalog Truth is a free checker run by Steel Lantern. It reads a Shopify store's public pages and public product data and reports where they disagree. It needs no account and no payment, so there is nothing to sign up for or cancel. The Shopify app reads your products with read-only permission and never changes your store.

Using it

Don't use it to put load on a store or to get around its limits. It follows each store's robots.txt and limits how often a store or connection can be checked.

What a report is

A report shows what the store's pages and product data said at the time of the check. It is information to help you fix your store. Google makes its own decisions in Merchant Center, and Catalog Truth is not part of Google or Shopify. We work to keep the checks accurate, and if a report looks wrong, tell us and we'll look into it.

No warranty

Catalog Truth is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Steel Lantern is not liable for losses that come from using it or relying on a report.

Changes

We may change or stop the service, and update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.
